[coord/meet] Okashi-con J-fashion "Magica Marina" mixer!

I attended Okashi-con as an artist alley artist and also went to the mixer with special guest Kimura U! I didn't really have a marine-themed dress that was summery so I just borrowed Cat's Baby mermaid dress and bought Mintymix's pastel rainbow bob wig and it was perfect! No detailed shots since this was a borrowed dress, lol.

[Dress, hairbow: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright; blouse: Innocent World; shoes: off-brand; mermaid tights: Etsy; necklace: Sanrio; badge: Preciousbbz, Kimura U; hair accessories: Daiso, Forever 21]

Anyway, the mixer was really cute with a DJ, fun drinks, cute ocean-themed backdrops for snapshots and a favor bag full of goodies and postcards. I had a good time even if we didn't have a crafting section like last year.

[coord/meet] A-kon Tea Party with Baby, the Stars Shine Bright

Last year I did not make it to A-kon's tea party because it was in Fort Worth and I didn't feel like going through the effort/cost and instead just hung out with friends, but I went this year to check out the new venue at Fair Park in Dallas. It was super hot and humid and I'm sure my dress is ruined with sweat, but it was worth it. This year's tea part was in the elegant Capitol Hall, catered by a local tea restaurant, with fashion guests from Baby the Stars Shine Bright and Hard Decora, along with Haruka Kurabeyashi! I wore a new Baby dress bought from the Japanese website, but the matching accessories were not available, so I had to buy them from the American shop. I also bought new shoes for some reason even though I didn't have to lol. I'm too lazy to retake the photos in my bathroom but this is the gist of my coord, taken at the venue by a fellow lolita.

[Onepiece: Baby the Stars Shine Bright; shoes, socks, headdress, choker: Baby the Stars Shine Bright; rings, hairpins: Forever 21, H&M, offbrand]

This coord was almost head to toe Baby, because nothing else from a different brand would have matched, lol. I love this blue and white long length Rococco style dress and bought a hoop petticoat to wear under it, which was an experience. I am glad I didn't get the matching hairbow, I think this hairband from a different line worked very well without being too fussy over the curly wig. Also made a new set of blingy deco nails to wear, which I am very proud of. Hoping I can rewear this coord someday, as it cost over $1000 total lmao!!!

[coord] Summer International Lolita Day - sailor

Heyo, my BFF came up to Dallas for a graduation party, so we had brunch and did a sailor theme for summer International Lolita Day on June 1st! I finally got to wear out this tricolor Alice and the Pirates military theme dress but as a sailor dress. Now I don't feel so bad about looking at it in my closet every other day lmao.

[JSK: Alice and the Pirates; socks: Angelic Pretty; shoes: Bodyline; blouse: Innocent World; hat: handmade; jewelry and accessories: offbrand, Forever 21, Claire's]

A miniature sailor hat is harder to wear than you think and this wig was way too tight on my huge head despite my thin hair. Either you need a big fluffy hairstyle or just wear a regular size sailor hat. But anyway, I wore this outfit out on theme and I'm proud to have partially matched the reds and blues and that's that!

[coord] Holiday European Tea at Alexander Mansion

I finally got to visit the Alexander Mansion sumptuously decorated for the holidays and serving European-style tea for the month of December. It was a cold and dreary day when we went out, but the setting was beautiful even if my makeup and hair weren't. I had purchased some red dresses online, but nothing looked as perfect for the holidays as this random Bodyline dress I got on clearance lol.

Dress: Bodyline; bolero: Victorian Maiden; shoes, book purse, tights, headband: off-brand; jewelry: H&M, Forever 21; corsage: handmade; coat and collar not pictured are also off-brand

Simple but effectively festive and a perfect classic lolita look right out of the Victorian Maiden or Mary Magdalene catalog (rest in piece.) I had a cute cream wool jacket with a detachable fur collar that I wore, I left the collar in for extra warmth once inside. My favorite part about this outfit is that the bolero actually fits (unlike most Victorian Maiden clothing lol) and it came with detachable trim and lace cuffs. My least favorite part is that my false lashes and lipstick weren't looking so great in photos, but that's what photoshop is for!

[coord] Halloween gothic coord

Hello! I managed to fit in a spoopy post-Halloween tea with my lolita friends and wanted to show off my gothic coord while I'm still feeling productive! I was quite happy to be invited and wear my new, never-worn Taobao dress.

[one-piece: Dear Celine; tights: Grimoire; shoes: Innocent World; headdress: Taobao, handmade; jewelry: Forever 21, H&M, off-brand]

I also made some gothic black blinged-up fake nails which I really liked but were silver themed instead of gold to match the dress. The actual headdress I wore to the actual party was the same Baby the Stars Shine Bright headdress I always wear for gothic coords, my original idea was to attach it and the veil to the horns, but I stayed up late doing my nails instead so I didn't get around to it lol.

[coord] My Melody x Liz Lisa hime gyaru

Heyo... I should have another lolita event for Halloween and I do have the beginnings of a coord for that one, but the weather is still a bit warm and humid, so here is a hime gyaru outfit with this Liz Lisa My Melody one piece I got on clearance! I also bought these My Melody shoes from Taobao and I do have a My Melody purse and socks but the pinks didn't match so you are spared from that travesty.

[dress and purse: Liz Lisa, headband: Angelic Pretty, necklace: Daiso, bracelets and socks and shoes: off-brand, rings: H&M and Forever 21 and handmade]

As you can see, I love wearing hime gyaru and fairy kei in Texas summers, I hate sweating in my lolita clothes, getting gross armpit and collar stains on my somewhat expensive blouses. No way. Plus you could layer on fairy kei and gyaru in the winters, although the spontaneous breeziness could get lost under the coat and sweaters. Anyway, those are my thoughts on the matter.

[coord] white ouji redo from A-kon 2017

I finally had the strength of will to redo my white ouji coord from A-kon last year. I was not feeling wearing so many layers in summer, but I missed my chance to do it in the one week it was cold in the winter lol. I changed the wig and socks to white and switched to the gold crown I had ordered from China which came in after A-kon ended. I think this is the best possible coord I could have created, so here it is!

[jacket: Dear Celine, blouse: off-brand, shorts: taobao, socks and shoes and cuffs: Alice and the Pirates, stole: Forever 21, sash: Pier Imports, brooches: Angelic Pretty, jewelry: H&M and Forever 21, crown: ebay]

Anyway, I managed to fit in some Alice and the Pirates stuff which is the intent. I will need to buy a new white wig someday, this wig is getting a little ratty, but I just really love how it looks with my white outfits. My ultimate goal was to add a cape, and I do have a white cosplay cape but I was not going to iron it and wear it when I'm already sweating bullets lmao.
