[coord] Cyber Neon Girl - summer ILD 2026

Finally posted my summer ILD art market tripletting coord, Cyber Neon Girl jsk in the black colorway from Metamorphose Temps de Filles! Only my fellow lolitas can understand that sentence completely, maybe, lol. Check out my blog for my rundown of this coord, and yes that's Steve Buscemi Starscream on my bag.

[coord] International Lolita Day Winter 2025!~

And here is a quick coord for International Lolita Day Winter 2025 last Saturday/Sunday! I was busy with friends and errands all weekend so I just dressed up for bathroom photos with one of my newest dresses from Meta, you can tell because the hem is still wrinkled from shipping.

[coord] International Lolita Day Summer 2025!~

Here is a coord in progress for summer ILD this year! I did a simple silky/satiny coord using the leopard print jumperskirt from Meta. Very tacky but I like it.

Check out the details at my blog here!

[coord] Metamorphose Voyage in Memory spooky coord

Be sure to check my website for the con report of San Japan x Okashi-con Japanese fashion events! I borrowed my bestie's Meta jumperskirt for the mixer since Meta was the guest of honor this year and I'm loving this coord I put together!

[coord] Qi lolita/closet cosplay for Genshin Impact event

Just wanted to update on this blog my first coord of 2024, qi-lolita that is also closet cosplay! I realized that I didn't put specific brand or fashion topics as tags on my main site and I haven't decided yet if I should, since that would create a massive tag cloud that probably won't be utilized by most visitors of my domain. So I do have to crosspost to blogger here, oh well. This is the beautiful Kaleidoscope of Fortune Deer high waist JSK by Meta of which the purple/black colorway is the most stunning. Technically this dress is also wa-lolita, but since I bought the twin bun haircovers, I consider it qi-lolita by intention lol.

[DIY] re-fashion and altering Meta Jewel Leopard jumperskirt

 Posted originally at my domain.

I dunno if anyone is actively following this blog, but if you still are, I recommend also following the blog at my domain starsbegantofall.com for lengthier J-fashion posts, such as this "sew with me" post on how I made a low-waist jumperskirt dress with broken zipper into a top and skirt combo that is not as tight!

Stay tuned for worn photos... whenever... It's hot here, okay?

[coord] belated summer sailor lolita

This was the coord I was going to post for summer International Lolita Day except I was doing something else at the time and posted an old coord instead. I love Metamorphose's sailor lolita items, they usually release one banger dress a year as sailor/military seems to be one of their specialties. I ordered this dress  new but the pandemmy progressed and I never had a chance to wear it out and even if I did, I have second thoughts about wearing a white dress outside or to eat lol. I didn't even get to order the matching accessories (they were sold out by the time I remembered) and so I made do with DIY and offbrand stuff.

[Dress: Metamorphose; hat: handmade; bracelets and rings: offbrand; socks, hairclips: Forever 21; other hairclip: Liz Lisa; shoes: Secret Shop]

Ignore the sloppy salute, it's bad, I know. Anyway, not much to say about this coord other than I wish I had bought the matching hairpiece, cuffs and socks, but I think flipping it to white stripes on navy is pretty interesting and unexpected and I kinda like it. I sewed the hat myself from Otome no Sewing volume 3. The socks have a little anchor on them. The dress colorway is actually off-white and looks a little dirty and grubby on the seams to me, but through the magic of photography filters, the whites and navys don't look so mismatched in the photo lol.

Most of my dresses aren't A-line, they usually have a seam at the waist and lots of puff for the cupcake look or just an empire-waist babydoll sack cut. A-line dresses may not always fit you perfectly if you don't have the ideal shape (see my nurse dress), but luckily this dress has shirring and back lacing and waist ties and fits me so neatly. Plus the two deep pockets? A rare Meta win!

[coord] Metamorphose's Diavalo, again!

Back at it with the coolest coord I can make from my closet, Diavolo from Metamorphose. I got the white coat years ago from the site and within the last year I bought the hat secondhand on Lacemarket because I knew I wasn't going to find it anywhere else soon. Finally revised my dorky cosplay coord with an actual ouji/boystyle coord.

[hat, coat: Metamorphose; blouse, shoes, socks: Innocent World; pants: Putumayo; necktie: Black Peace Now; gloves: Sexpot Revenge; earring: Daiso; eyepatch: handmade]

Besides the fact that the hat and blouse are too small for me, I would absolutely wear this outfit out and about, I really improved upon my first coord.  Previously I thought it made me look fat, but I think the new legwear and tall hat help balance it out. I also love that I got to use all of my ouji boystyle accessories here, including the Tales of crossover baggy pants and the necktie I got for some reason, as well as the snakeskin gloves my friend got me from Japan. The eyepatch was not comfortable though.

Posing with a water gun from Daiso, and I decided that boyish makeup makes me look wretched, so I put on red lipstick heheh.  Anyway, check out my insta for my attempt at videos and whatever the heck this reel thing is. I don't even know, I try to avoid social media for anything other than updates on series I'm following and cat memes and dog videos.

[coord] Happy Balloon by Meta

Hmm, I have no readers of this blog, but oh well, it amuses me to write the entries, so I will keep doing so. Last weekend, I did a test coord of this Happy Balloon jsk I got in a lucky pack. Instead of that ouji coord from early summer lol. While I didn't mind getting this print and style and colorway, bright blue was not a common color in my wardrobe and I didn't want to get new accessories and jewelry just for it when I have a fellow local lolita who loves ducks.

JSK, hairbows, blouse, socks, necklace: Metamorphose; shoes: Bodyline; rose pins: ShoujoMonsta

This pink wig I got at a con actually looks really awful on my skintone in real life without heavy filters, but I just wanted to wear it one last time before I attempt to sell it. This is a simple mostly Meta coord, with a lucky pack blouse I may also try to sell. I think I could have abandoned the pink wig and socks and went for more red and gold and white to bring out the colors of the balloons and clouds, since I don't own a lot of bright blue stuff. But as it is, it's not too bad.

[coord] Rose Leopard casual-ish lolita

I wore this coveted Metamorphose Rose Leopard piece a while ago for dim-sum in Austin but was too lazy to get a photo, so here it is now while it's fairly warm but not too warm, lol. (One day when it's cold I'll do my ouji coord.) The only difference since the last time I wore it is that I found the matching hair-bow clip on Wunderwelt, so there are a few more accessories than before. Thus not as casual as it could be, but due to the cut, it still feels pretty casual and ready for sleepwear than most lolita dresses.

Dress, hairbow x 2: Metamorphose; purse, ring: Angelic Pretty; boots: Bodyline; tights, necklace, mini hair clips: Forever 21; bracelet, ring, necklace: off-brand, Bling-up

Again, I don't really like baby-coll or sack cuts since they don't appear as flattering as they should be, but the huge bonus is that you can eat a lot and not feel restricted as much except by your tights or petticoats and that's worth looking dumpy! Anyway, I love leopard print, and Rose Leopard is by far the prettiest print Meta has released, even if it's the oldest. I just wish the hairbow wasn't so awkward clipped onto my real hair, oh well!

[coord] Tacky Christmas Sweater coord

We had a White Elephant and general gift exchange party with some local lolitas. Alas, the tea place we wanted to meet at did not take reservations and had a two hour wait due to the holidays, so we met up at a Bucca di Beppo and had a solid Italian meal in our lolita instead lmao. I promised to wear a tacky Christmas sweater so here it is!

Skirt: Metamorphose, tights: Grimoire, boots: Bodyline; jacket: Dear Celine, blouse: off-brand, wig and reindeer antlers, crystal pendant and bracelet: Daiso, stole and necklace: Forever 21, flower wreath and necklace: handmade

This was another budget outfit with Daiso items, handmade and offbrand items. The only true lolita brand was Meta, a lucky pack skirt from 2 years ago. But I was glad to coord this vest that my Australian family gave me, as well as the jacket and stole. Overall, it was a good attempt, I'm proud of myself.

[coord] a simple Kuro-lolita

I just put together a quick comfortable outfit for selling fanart at an artist alley (for the first time, yay!) No jewelry to get caught up anywhere while drawing, and flat tea party knock off shoes for transporting my suitcase into the hotel conference room. (I had an evil megane glint in the first photo, lmao.)

Metamorphose jumperskirt, Innocent World blouse, Bodyline shoes, off brand hair accessories and fuzzy socks. Not pictured - black peace now jacket

All black is the way to go: a lot of people said I looked nice, and black matches a lot easier than any other color, that's for sure. If I were wearing this out to a real meetup, I would add my black Innocent World purse and some black jewelry.

[coords] dressing up with skirts

I think skirts are an essential part of a lolita wardrobe, but a little trickier to coord with today's lolita trends. With a jumperskirt or one piece, you throw on the dress and 75% of the work is done, but with a skirt, you have a lot more areas to pay attention to, at least if you are going for a full coord and not a casual outfit (which is what I usually use my skirts for.)

Some of the more in-depth lolita guides emphasize a detailed pretty blouse to make the top half of your coord interesting, and of course, they address the eternal question, to tuck in the shirt into the skirt waistband or not. (Personally, I usually tuck, but some blouses have frilly hems that are meant to go over the skirt and some skirts just have plain shirred waistbands that should be covered, however, I must be too short because doing that never looks great on me.) Furthermore, jewelry, accessories, vests, jackets and boleros can be contemplated if you just don't have a very interesting blouse to wear. Otherwise, go full casual and wear a t-shirt or cutsew or tank top lmao.

Here is my latest attempt at a coord using items I haven't worn yet. I got a new hime wig in a chestnut brown color, but it doesn't look much darker than my previous wig, lol, at least it was only 10 dollars. Probably not the best hairdo ever, but I think the rest of the outfit worked pretty well, trying to use a lot of gold and off-white and pink. That knit sleeveless top is somewhat difficult to work into a typically accepted lolita outfit, I've never seen anyone wear it out anyway, so I'm proud of that!

Metamorphose skirt and knit top, Secret Shop shoes, offbrand purse, jacket, blouse, tights, jewelry.

Anyway, I like this challenge and will be trying to coordinate the rest of my skirts in the future, in both casual and not casual way like in this post.

[meetup] New Year New Lolita 2016 meetup

The local community had an open potluck meetup/swap at a library conference room for new and veteran lolitas for the new year! The weather was projected to be extra cold and wet, so I wasn't eager to leave my warm bed, but with tremendous effort I made it there only a little late. It was the most lolitas we've seen in a while so I hope everyone had fun. Many teas were made, lots of food, buying of clothes, also a contest. I wasn't expecting to win one of the prizes since I rewore an old coordinate that never made it out into public and figured someone else out there would have done an even better job, but I sure was an example of steampunk lolita! Even without wearing my clock bag, lmao. I won a cute neutral themed prize pack with accessories from the local lolitas, so I bought like a complete outfit to use them with. (Advice: do not do this, do not buy a complete outfit to match your socks or jewelry, not recommended.)

Metamorphose "Wheel of Time" onepiece, choker and socks, Fanplus Friend hat decorated by myself, Innocent World purse, thrifted shoes, off-brand jewelry. I still am not happy with the socks, but I think I'll never find the ones that match completely, so whatever.

A group photo of the winners before we froze. Too precious!

[coords] 2015 bathroom shots part 2 of 2

Here are some more coord photos from the bathroom! These fancy outfits were all for tea meetups! I love tea, and I'm glad our local community scopes out the best tea places in the area for our events.   (TBH, I actually don't remember if the blouses are Meta or Innocent World, I have 3 in the same color.)

I was asked to wear my fanciest outfit for a spring high tea, and this certainly fit the occasion! Metamorphose Fancy Egg jumpskirt, blouse, hairbow and necklace, Innocent World socks and purse, and Bodyline shoes, the flower chains are handmade.

I never got a full shot of this coord from the first high tea I attended, so here is a redo wearing a Lockshop hime gyaru wig instead of my usual Bodyline gradient wig. Metamorphose Princess Wardrobe jumpskirt and socks, Innocent World blouse, off brand jacket and purse and shoes.

For another super fancy tea, this time in the autumn, I wore one of my dream prints plus a half bonnet for the first time. Angelic Pretty Cameo Window jumpskirt and bonnet, Metamorphose blouse, Bodyline shoes, offbrand purse, jewelry, tights, and some handmade accessories as well.

[coords] 2015 bathroom shots part 1 of 2

Here are a few full-length coord shots I took on my tripod in my bathroom to show off the complete outfit. The bathroom is the best lighting in my house, and these shots look a lot better than the sweaty haggard look I'm sporting at the actual meets and events, lmao.

A sweet casual lolita look for the Valentine's Day bakery crawl! Innocent World strawberry cutsew, Emily Temple Cute strawberry skirt and offbrand purse, headband and shoes. I also had strawberry shortcake handmade earrings and uhh my natural hair.

I can't even remember what this event was, I'm growing senile... Rewearing my h.naoto frill embroidered castle JSK with Innocent World blouse and socks, Bodyline hairbow and shoes.

I never ended up getting to the museum to show off this steampunk coord. Metamorphose Wheel of Time onepiece dress, Fan Plus Friend hat decorated by myself, Innocent World purse, Bodyline shoes and indie brand socks that don't quite match.

[coords] Metamorphose Diavolo white coat

I bought the Metamorphose Diavolo long coat in off-white (one of the few full price online store purchases I've made) because it was so dramatic and just my style! It's not a typical lolita item, being a men's cut (sort of anyway) military style coat. But I was determined to make it work, so here are a few example outfits I put together.

This is lolita style using the coat, a large white fur collar from Forever 21, offbrand blouse and gloves, Meta socks and knock off boots. The hat is a cruise captain Halloween prop my mom got one year that I decorated with one of the badges that came with the coat lmao. I am wearing a Meta skirt underneat, so there is a slight a-line shape to the silhouette. The jacket is unlined and made of a light woven material, so it's not particularly warm despite its appearance, so I am not sure what is the intended season, but with a collar and gloves and tights and boots, it could work for cool fall weather or mild winter.

These are cosplay outfits to be honest, but I was just seeing how to go for a more masculine (HAHAHA) look with my Free! wigs that need using up. They were inspired by their white navy captain uniforms, but whereas the artwork had a summer theme with short sleeves, I coordinated this coat for a more wintry theme.  I used a black pashmina and a black fur collar that came with a coat, plus a black Meta blouse for Rei. I didn't add much to Momo, although now you can gold cording I attached to the epaulettes better. The bottoms are white jeans and black knee high motorcyle boots.

So anyway... I love this coat, but it doesn't look complete without the hat (which I never found the white hat sold online, only the black and that was sold out ages ago). I feel like I give off a cruise captain look even wearing it lolita style. But it's my happiest purchase!

(from the Meta site)
